Thanks for the information - I gather from what I've read that even if I could access the CD, it might not be very useful! I did wonder about the phone ports, the first time I connected it I must have used the correct one, as at least I got a slow flashing light. The light is the symbol for connectivity:įlashing rapidly: No connection at all - not receiving a signal.įlashing slowly: Connection available, but something preventing it, such as wrong username and password. There's two, which are identical, but the one for the RJ11 cable is the one next to the power adapter. Have I forgotten something here, like the security code or something, or is the Livebox just crap? Suggestions gratefully received!Īlso, I know the Livebox is crap with which port you use on the bottom - the one you're meant to use is the one closest to the power adapter. So I gave up and went back to the trusty Netgear. My computer recognises the wireless router is there, but it won't connect to it.

These people are SO predictable - user name and password were cracked in 5 seconds! Anyway, I got in, set my own broadband user name and password, asked the system to validate - and nothing, no connection. There were various helpful remarks about third-party firewalls, which directed me to an Internet site - and just how am I supposed to do that when I haven't set the damn thing up yet?!!īeing crafty and quite good at setting up modems, I thought OK, I think I can access the Internet setup here, and fortunately I got the IP address second time around. It kept referring me to the help file/block your firewall section and wouldn't go any further. First problem was that the CD refused to run - I disabled my Norton firewall as instructed (I don't run the Windows XP firewall as it conflicts), but no dice.

Hi guys, I'm glad I found this thread! I thought I'd install the Livebox modem today, since I had nothing better to do and I got it free (I currently use a Netgear modem/wireless router).
